There are two ways to install Claris applications on your hard disk:
Ñ "Easy" is the recommended method. An Installer installs the entire application package and puts all files and folders in their preferred locations.
Ñ "Custom" installation lets you choose just the files you want.
IMPORTANT: Some INITs (especially virus protection INITs) might interfere with the Claris Installer. If you have trouble completing the installation, turn off INITs and try again. Under System 7 you may turn off INITs by restarting your Macintosh while holding down the shift key. Wait until you see the message "Welcome to Macintosh, Extensions Off" before releasing the shift key.
EASY INSTALLATION
Follow these steps below to install the complete Claris application package on your hard disk.
1. Double-click the Installer icon. This brings up the Installer title screen.
2. Click OK. You see the Easy Install dialog box.
3. If you don't see the name of the hard disk on which you want to install the application, click Switch Disk. If you switch to a disk that doesn't have enough space available, the dialog box tells you why you can't proceed.
4. Click Install.
The Installer begins moving compressed application files and expands each one.
5. Click Cancel or press Command-. if you want to stop the installation process.
After all the files are installed, a final dialog box tells you that the installation was successful.
CUSTOM INSTALLATION
1. Follow steps 1 and 2 in the previous section.
2. Click Customize. The dialog box lists the files you can install.
3. Click the files you want to install.
When you select a file, information about it appears in a rectangle at the lower left. Shift-click to select multiple files.
4. Click Install. The Installer begins moving compressed application files and expands each one.
5. Click Cancel or press Command-. if you want to stop the installation process.
After all the files are installed, a final dialog box tells you that the installation was successful.
